We're looking for an experienced engineer to join our infrastructure team and help lead the team's transition to applying product thinking to how we build infrastructure. In this role, you'll be the technical expert and, together with the team's engineering manager, formulate a vision for reinventing and simplifying our infrastructure. We are building a team that will own the developer experience at Avinode. This includes providing other product teams with infrastructure that they can use in a self-service manner, but the team’s scope includes the whole journey from development to production.

In this role, you are empowered to take the lead on shaping the future of our infrastructure, so we expect you to have good understanding of the technology landscape and infrastructure state-of-the-art, and be able to balance novelty and complexity budgets with the needs of the business. If you've worked as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Platform Engineer, or a job along those lines and enjoy applying a product mindset and high focus on the developer experience to building infrastructure, this might be the perfect role for you.

What you will be doing

• Engage with our product teams and identify their needs and pain points around developer experience.
• Together with Engineering leadership, define a target architecture that leverages Azure cloud offerings to run our services in a way that doesn’t put a large maintenance burden on the infrastructure team or product teams.
• Develop a plan for how to incrementally transform our existing architecture into the target architecture.
• Hands-on implementation work in the team’s scope.
• Coach and support team members in their day to day work.
• Be an advocate for DevOps in the Product Engineering organisation, and teach product teams how to apply DevOps practices to increase their effectiveness in delivering great products.

Who you are

• You have experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, containers and container orchestration, and cloud architecture and building cloud-native.
• You have experience developing CI/CD pipelines.
• You are familiar with software development and delivery best practices, and know how to ensure your team is following them.
• You are a technical leader who communicates your ideas well, both verbally and in writing. You inspire your colleagues and help them achieve great things
